Last week, the CR FFA team competed at the National Convention in Indianapolis Indiana. We am so proud of each of these students and their hard work to compete representing New York at the National Level! The Agriculture Sales Team got Silver while Environmental and Natural Resources Team got Silver and Meat Evaluation and Technology Team got Bronze. It is with great pleasure that we introduce the official mascot of Cuba Rushford Central School District! We will continue to be the Cuba Rushford Rebels represented by the following images.
The easiest way to think about the mascot name is to use the example of St. Bonaventure Bonnies, they had the mascot of Brown Indian until 1992 and then in 1998 they became the Bona Wolf. The school's name is St. Bonaventure Bonnies, as we will continue to be the Cuba Rushford Rebels. The only thing that will change will be a gradual change in the imagery of the new mascot.
We want to thank all the people that have helped make this possible: students, staff, community, and Board of Education.
The district hired Eric Jones to create the imagery and provide us with the files that allow us to recreate the image in merchandise and infrastructure with the correct colors.
We are excited to slowly begin branding areas in our schools and seeing a life size mascot costume at school events!

Kindergarten went to Pumpkinville today. We had a great time! We went for a wagon ride, picked pumpkins, played in the fun zone and on the jumping pillow, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed delicious apple cider and pumpkin donuts. #mycrcs

The CRE after-school program went to visit the Cuba Fire Department on Wednesday. Mr. Appleby gave us a tour of the firehouse, talked about fire safety, and showed us how to hook up a hose to the tanker truck. We were able try on the fire gear and spray the backpack hose.
