I hope that this newsletter finds you well. We had a great month returning to school after Christmas Break! During the month of January, the PTO sponsored a Paint Night Event on January 24th for families. Families were able to paint a Snowman or a Polar Bear and were instructed on how to complete the painting through a step-by-step process at each table! Students were able to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. On February 5th, we celebrated students who demonstrated compassion and kindness at our monthly Character Education Assembly. On February 7th, we held a mid-year awards ceremony, which honored students that were nominated for Best Effort and Most Improved. Students were awarded a certificate as well as a gold coin, which was provided by the PTO. We are so proud of our Junior Rebels! Additionally, our STEAM Advisors, Mr. Feuchter and Mr. Hillman, organized a STeAM Night at CRE on February 7th from 5:45-8:00 p.m. This event included several stations, such as making slime, flying drones, and painting with natural dyes. Several of the stations were led by faculty and staff members at CRCS. Fun was had by all! In terms of upcoming events, we will be hosting a 4th and 5th Grade Social on February 13th for 4th and 5th Graders. In addition, during the week of March 3rd through the 7th, we will be celebrating Read Across America Week, which includes a Spirit Week, Principals’ Reading Challenge, and the Scholastic Book Fair. Students and their grandparents are encouraged to attend Grandparent’s Night on March 4th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. as well as Dr. Seuss Night from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on March 7th. Lastly, our next Character Education Assembly is on March 19th at 2:00 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.
